The Schlage Deadbolt Problem!

Locks are getting tougher and tougher these days. Good for consumers…bad for locksmiths. The newer Schlage locks are no exception. if you have a never Schlage lock (especially the deadbolt), and need Colorado Lockouts to get you back in – it might take longer than any you might expect. First of all, the never Schlage locks have ‘pick proof’ or ‘pick-resistant’ pins inside. They can be titanium pins (makes drilling them nearly impossible) or ‘mushroom’ or ‘spool’ pins. This makes standard picking incredibly hard. The second reason is the drilling problem. These newer Schlage locks have a metal plate just under the face of the lock. This plate is designed to prevent drilling the screws backward.
